The Class V Restoration
When a person bites down, occlusally-generated stresses are concentrated at the cervical region of the tooth (near the gumline) and often result in the leakage or popping out of a dental restoration. With this understanding, restorative approaches that combine chemical adhesion and restorative materials of appropriate elastic properties show promise of long-term success.
