Supplemental Instruction is an academic support service offered by the Center for Academic Development (CAD) that utilizes a peer assisted study model to improve student learning. SI sessions are regularly-scheduled, out of class review sessions in which students compare notes, discuss readings, develop organizational tools, and predict test items. The sessions are facilitated by experienced students who have been successful in this course. Research has shown that students who attend SI regularly earn higher course grades than students who do not, in some cases up to a full letter grade higher.  SI is free and students can attend as many sessions as their schedules will allow.  Not only is SI a place to go to if struggling in class, but also where you can retain your A or B letter grade.  SI also assists those students who apply for professional schools.  Most importantly it provides the opportunity to meet other students and develop friendships.  Take note of the SI times that will be mentioned in class and advertised on campus.
