Your WebAssign account will be created by your instructor. Your WebAssign Username will be the same as your UMKC Email Address (for example, alias@umkc.edu). Note that your UMKC email address has several versions. The version that will be used is the one listed for you in Pathway (typically ending on umkc.edu or mail.umkc.edu). Your initial Password will be the same as your UMKC Student ID number followed by the letter A (for example, 12345678A). If you have login trouble initially, please contact your instructor (not customer service). This process will also create a Cengage account for you with the same username and password. Cengage is the parent company of WebAssign. You will be able to change your password and your profile details from within your Cengage account if you wish. However, please do not change the fields with your name and email address as they are taken directly from Pathway and should match the UMKC records. After the initial grace period of about 2 weeks, you will be required to purchase access (~$30/semester) in order to use WebAssign. Once you enter Webassign, you should change your notification settings by clicking on Notifications and selecting the appropriate boxes, especially those for extension requests, help requests, and private messages.
