Worked as a design consultant and was involved in the analysis and design of sheet pile walls 5) Professional-in-Residence (Fall 1997 to Fall 2000) Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Louisiana State University. Duties included teaching Structural Analysis, Mechanics of Materials, Dynamics and Vibrations, Statics and conducting research in the areas of computational mechanics and constitutive modeling. 6) Instructor (Fall 1995 - Summer 1997 ) Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Louisiana State University Research and teaching courses in structural engineering, materials, Statics and applied mechanics areas. 6) Teaching/Research Assistant ( 1993 - 1995 ) Department of Civil Engineering, Louisiana State University. Research in constitutive modeling of the behavior of Metal Matrix Composites and teaching two sections of Statics every semester. 7) Assistant Engineer ( 1988 - 1991 ) Civil Construction Wing, All India Radio, New Delhi, India Responsibilities included completion of entire structural projects from the architectural drawing stage to preparation of site design drawings, managing a team of engineers. Completed three projects where design involved RCC, Steel and Brick Masonry buildings during the period. Awards and Honors:: 1) UMKC-Faculty Scholar Award (2006) – Given by the University of Missouri Kansas City to two Assistant Professors in the campus for demonstrating outstanding potential for success in research. 2) LEAP (Leadership Excellence Achievement Program) Award (2006) – Given by the Missouri Chapter of Professional Engineers. 3) Good Teaching Faculty Award (2004) – School of Computing and Engineering - UMKC 4) Received the ASCE Student Chapter, Outstanding Teaching award (LSU), 2002 5) Received the Prestigious Tiger Athletic Foundation Undergraduate Excellence in Teaching Award for 1999. This is a university level award. 6) Received the Chi Epsilon - Excellence in Teaching Award for year 1999. This annual award by the Chi Epsilon Society to an outstanding faculty in Civil Engineering. 7) Received the prestigious Tiger Athletic Foundation Undergraduate Excellence in Teaching Award for 1997 – a university level award 8) Received the Chi Epsilon - Excellence in Teaching Award for 1997.
